What is Market Capitalization of a company? Where can I find the Market Capitalization in IIFL Markets App?

Market capitalization, commonly called market cap, is the market value of a publicly traded company's outstanding shares.

Market capitalization is equal to the share price multiplied by the number of shares outstanding. Since outstanding stock is bought and sold in public markets, capitalization could be used as an indicator of public opinion of a company's net worth.

To see market capitalization of a company:

1) Click on the name of a company from the watchlist. It will open the details page of the company.

2) Click on the Fundamental tab. You’ll see the MCAP. under Stats. The value of Market Cap shown below is in Crores.

 

*Publicly Traded Company is a company whose ownership is organized via shares of stock which are intended to be freely traded on a stock exchange or in over-the-counter markets.

*Outstanding Shares are all the shares of a corporation that have been authorized, issued and purchased by investors and are held by them.
